Synopsis

The remote Amazon Linux 2 host is missing a security update.

Description

The version of hwloc installed on the remote host is prior to 1.11.8-4. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the ALAS2-2023-2237 advisory.

- An issue was discovered in open-mpi hwloc 2.1.0 allows attackers to cause a denial of service or other unspecified impacts via glibc-cpuset in topology-linux.c. (CVE-2022-47022)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Run 'yum update hwloc' to update your system.
