Synopsis

The remote Debian host is missing a security-related update.

Description

The remote Debian 10 host has a package installed that is affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the dla-3561 advisory.

- Versions of the package cookiejar before 2.1.4 are vulnerable to Regular Expression Denial of Service (ReDoS) via the Cookie.parse function, which uses an insecure regular expression. (CVE-2022-25901)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade the node-cookiejar packages.

For Debian 10 Buster, this problem has been fixed in version 2.0.1-1+deb10u1.
