Synopsis

The version of Adobe Reader installed on the remote macOS host is affected by a vulnerability.

Description

The version of Adobe Reader installed on the remote macOS host is a version prior to 20.005.30524 or 23.006.20320. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability.

 - Acrobat Reader versions 23.003.20284 (and earlier), 20.005.30516 (and earlier) and 20.005.30514 (and earlier) are affected by an out-of-bounds write vulnerability that could result in arbitrary code execution in the context of the current user. Exploitation of this issue requires user interaction in that a victim must open a malicious file. (CVE-2023-26369)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to Adobe Reader version 20.005.30524 / 23.006.20320 or later.
