Synopsis

The remote Ubuntu host is missing a security update.

Description

The remote Ubuntu 22.04 LTS / 23.04 host has packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the USN-6375-1 advisory.

Florian Fainelli discovered that atftp did not properly manage requests made to a non-existent file, which could lead to a crash. A remote

attacker could possibly use this issue to cause a denial of service.

Tenable has extracted the preceding description block directly from the Ubuntu security advisory.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected atftp and / or atftpd packages.
