Synopsis

The remote Amazon Linux 2 host is missing a security update.

Description

The version of libjpeg-turbo installed on the remote host is prior to 2.0.90-2. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the ALAS2-2023-2254 advisory.

- libjpeg-turbo version 2.0.90 has a heap-based buffer over-read (2 bytes) in decompress_smooth_data in jdcoefct.c. (CVE-2021-29390)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Run 'yum update libjpeg-turbo' to update your system.
