Synopsis

The remote Amazon Linux AMI host is missing a security update.

Description

The version of busybox installed on the remote host is prior to 1.34.1-1.16. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the ALAS-2023-1832 advisory.

- There is a stack overflow vulnerability in ash.c:6030 in busybox before 1.35. In the environment of Internet of Vehicles, this vulnerability can be executed from command to arbitrary code execution.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Run 'yum update busybox' to update your system.
