Synopsis

The remote Ubuntu host is missing a security update.

Description

The remote Ubuntu 23.04 host has a package installed that is affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the USN-6399-1 advisory.

It was discovered that Puma incorrectly handled parsing certain headers. A remote attacker could possibly use this issue to perform an HTTP request Smuggling attack.

Tenable has extracted the preceding description block directly from the Ubuntu security advisory.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected puma package.
