Description

The version of Google Chrome installed on the remote Windows host is prior to 117.0.5938.132. It is, therefore, affected by multiple vulnerabilities as referenced in the 2023_09_stable-channel-update-for-desktop_27 advisory.

- Heap buffer overflow in vp8 encoding in libvpx. (CVE-2023-5217)

- Use after free in Passwords. (CVE-2023-5186)

- Use after free in Extensions. (CVE-2023-5187)

Note that Nessus has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to Google Chrome version 117.0.5938.132 or later.
