A web browser installed on the remote macOS host is affected by multiple vulnerabilities.

Description

The version of Google Chrome installed on the remote macOS host is prior to 117.0.5938.132. It is, therefore, affected by multiple vulnerabilities as referenced in the 2023_09_stable-channel-update-for-desktop_27 advisory.

 - Heap buffer overflow in vp8 encoding in libvpx. (CVE-2023-5217)

 - Use after free in Passwords. (CVE-2023-5186)

 - Use after free in Extensions. (CVE-2023-5187)

Note that Nessus has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to Google Chrome version 117.0.5938.132 or later.
