Ubuntu 20.04 LTS / 22.04 LTS / 23.04 : Django vulnerability (USN-6414-1)

high Nessus Plugin ID 182529

Synopsis

The remote Ubuntu host is missing a security update.

Description

The remote Ubuntu 20.04 LTS / 22.04 LTS / 23.04 host has a package installed that is affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the USN-6414-1 advisory.

Wenchao Li discovered that the Django Truncator function incorrectly handled very long HTML input. A remote attacker could possibly use this issue to cause Django to consume resources, leading to a denial of service.

Tenable has extracted the preceding description block directly from the Ubuntu security advisory.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.
