Synopsis

The remote Ubuntu host is missing a security update.

Description

The remote Ubuntu 23.10 host has packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the USN-6423-2 advisory.

USN-6423-1 fixed a vulnerability in CUE. This update provides the corresponding updates for Ubuntu 23.10.

Original advisory details:

It was discovered that CUE incorrectly handled certain files.

An attacker could possibly use this issue to expose sensitive

information or execute arbitrary code.

Tenable has extracted the preceding description block directly from the Ubuntu security advisory.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected libcue-dev and / or libcue2 packages.
