The remote host is affected by multiple vulnerabilities

Description

The versions of Oracle Business Intelligence Publisher installed on the remote host are affected by multiple vulnerabilities as referenced in the October 2023 CPU advisory.

 - Vulnerability in the BI Publisher product of Oracle Analytics (component: Mobile Service (jQuery)). The supported version that is affected is 12.2.1.4.0. Easily exploitable vulnerability allows unauthenticated attacker with network access via HTTP to compromise BI Publisher. Successful attacks require human interaction from a person other than the attacker and while the vulnerability is in BI Publisher, attacks may significantly impact additional products (scope change). Successful attacks of this vulnerability can result in unauthorized update, insert or delete access to some of BI Publisher accessible data as well as unauthorized read access to a subset of BI Publisher accessible data. (CVE-2020-11023)

 - Vulnerability in the BI Publisher product of Oracle Analytics (component: Development Operations (XStream)). The supported version that is affected is 6.4.0.0.0. Easily exploitable vulnerability allows unauthenticated attacker with network access via HTTP to compromise BI Publisher. Successful attacks of this vulnerability can result in unauthorized ability to cause a hang or frequently repeatable crash (complete DOS) of BI Publisher. (CVE-2022-31160)

Note that Nessus has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Apply the appropriate patch according to the July 2023 Oracle Critical Patch Update advisory.
