Synopsis

An instance of Tenable.ad (now Tenable Identity Exposure) installed on the remote system is affected by a client authentication bypass vulnerability.

Description

According to its self-reported version, the Tenable.ad running on the remote host is prior to 3.29.4 / 3.19.12 / 3.11.9. Tenable.ad leverages third-party software to help provide underlying functionality. One of the third-party components (Erlang) was found to contain a Client Authentication Bypass in certain client-certification situations for SSL, TLS, and DTLS. Out of caution and in line with best practice, Tenable has opted to upgrade these components to address the potential impact of the issues. Tenable.ad on-premise versions 3.29.4, 3.19.12 and 3.11.9 update Erlang to version 25.1.2 to address the identified vulnerability.

Note that Nessus has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to Tenable.ad 3.29.4 / 3.19.12 / 3.11.9 or later.
