Synopsis

Description

The version of VMware Tools installed on the remote MacOS/MacOSX host is affected by a privilege escalation vulnerability. A malicious actor with local user access to a guest virtual machine may elevate privileges within the virtual machine.

Note that Nessus has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to VMwware Tools version 12.1.1 or later.
