Synopsis

The remote device is missing a vendor-supplied security patch.

Description

The version of F5 Networks BIG-IP installed on the remote host is prior to 15.1.9 / 16.1.4 / 17.1.0. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the K29141800 advisory.

- An authenticated user's session cookie may remain valid for a limited time after logging out from the BIG- IP Configuration utility on a multi-blade VIPRION platform. Note: Software versions which have reached End of Technical Support (EoTS) are not evaluated. (CVE-2023-40537)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to one of the non-vulnerable versions listed in the F5 Solution K29141800.
