Debian DLA-3644-1 : phppgadmin - LTS security update

critical Nessus Plugin ID 184274

Synopsis

The remote Debian host is missing a security-related update.

Description

The remote Debian 10 host has a package installed that is affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the dla-3644 advisory.

- phpPgAdmin 7.14.4 and earlier is vulnerable to deserialization of untrusted data which may lead to remote code execution because user-controlled data is directly passed to the PHP 'unserialize()' function in multiple places. An example is the functionality to manage tables in 'tables.php' where the 'ma[]' POST parameter is deserialized. (CVE-2023-40619)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade the phppgadmin packages.

For Debian 10 Buster, this problem has been fixed in version 5.1+ds-4+deb10u1.
