low Nessus Plugin ID 184443

Synopsis

The remote Debian host is missing one or more security-related updates.

Description

The remote Debian 11 / 12 host has packages installed that are affected by multiple vulnerabilities as referenced in the dsa-5548 advisory.

- Vulnerability in the Oracle Java SE, Oracle GraalVM Enterprise Edition, Oracle GraalVM for JDK product of Oracle Java SE (component: Hotspot). Supported versions that are affected are Oracle Java SE: 8u381-perf, 17.0.8, 21; Oracle GraalVM for JDK: 17.0.8 and 21. Successful attacks of this vulnerability can result in unauthorized update, insert or delete access to some of Oracle Java SE, Oracle GraalVM Enterprise Edition, Oracle GraalVM for JDK accessible data. Note: This vulnerability can be exploited by using APIs in the specified Component, e.g., through a web service which supplies data to the APIs. Note: This vulnerability applies to Java deployments, typically in clients running sandboxed Java Web Start applications or sandboxed Java applets, that load and run untrusted code (e.g., code that comes from the internet) and rely on the Java sandbox for security. This vulnerability does not apply to Java deployments, typically in servers, that load and run only trusted code (e.g., code installed by an administrator). (CVE-2023-22081)

Note that Nessus has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.
