Synopsis

The remote Debian host is missing a security-related update.

Description

The remote Debian 10 host has packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the dla-3655 advisory.

- A buffer overflow vulnerability in the icmp6_send_response_with_addrs_and_netif() function of Free Software Foundation lwIP version git head allows attackers to access sensitive information via a crafted ICMPv6 packet. (CVE-2020-22283)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade the lwip packages.

For Debian 10 buster, this problem has been fixed in version 2.0.3-3+deb10u2.
