Cisco Prime Infrastructure DoS (cisco-sa-http2-reset-d8Kf32vZ)

high Nessus Plugin ID 186211

Synopsis

The remote device is missing a vendor-supplied security patch.

Description

The version of Cisco Prime Infrastructure installed on the remote host is prior to 3.10.4. It is, therefore, affected by a denial of service (DoS) vulnerability, due to a HTTP/2 protocol-level weakness. The HTTP/2 protocol allows a denial of service (server resource consumption) because request cancellation can reset many streams quickly, which could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to exploit this issue to cause the Cisco Prime Infrastructure to stop responding.

Note that Nessus has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to the relevant fixed version referenced in Cisco bug ID CSCwh84581
