Synopsis

The remote security gateway is affected by a privilege management vulnerability.

Description

Firmware version of the Zyxel USG or VPN device is less than 5.37. This means the Zyxel device is vulnerable to the following privilege management vulnerability:

 - An improper privilege management vulnerability in the hotspot feature could allow an authenticated local attacker to access the system files on an affected device. (CVE-2023-5960)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to Zyxel USG / ATP / VPN to 5.37 or later.
