The remote Debian host is missing a security-related update.

Description

The remote Debian 11 / 12 host has packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the dsa-5585 advisory.

- Heap buffer overflow in WebRTC in Google Chrome prior to 120.0.6099.129 allowed a remote attacker to potentially exploit heap corruption via a crafted HTML page. (Chromium security severity: High) (CVE-2023-7024)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade the chromium packages.

For the stable distribution (bookworm), this problem has been fixed in version 120.0.6099.129-1~deb12u1.
