Synopsis

The remote openSUSE host is missing a security update.

Description

The remote openSUSE 15 host has packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the openSUSE- SU-2023:0423-1 advisory.

- Deepin-Compressor is the default archive manager of Deepin Linux OS. Prior to 5.12.21, there's a path traversal vulnerability in deepin-compressor that can be exploited to achieve Remote Command Execution on the target system upon opening crafted archives. Users are advised to update to version 5.12.21 which addresses the issue. There are no known workarounds for this vulnerability. (CVE-2023-50255)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected deepin-compressor and / or deepin-compressor-lang packages.
