Synopsis

The remote Ubuntu host is missing a security update.

Description

The remote Ubuntu 16.04 ESM / 18.04 ESM / 20.04 ESM / 22.04 ESM host has a package installed that is affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the USN-6571-1 advisory.

Youssef Rebahi-Gilbert discovered that Monit did not properly process credentials for disabled accounts.
An attacker could possibly use this

issue to login to the platform with an expired account and a valid

password.

Tenable has extracted the preceding description block directly from the Ubuntu security advisory.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected monit package.
