Synopsis

The remote Amazon Linux 2 host is missing a security update.

Description

The version of postgresql installed on the remote host is prior to 9.2.24-8. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the ALAS2-2024-2462 advisory.

 - schema_element defeats protective search_path changes; It was found that certain database calls in PostgreSQL could permit an authed attacker with elevated database-level privileges to execute arbitrary code. (CVE-2023-2454)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Run 'yum update postgresql' to update your system.
