Synopsis

The remote Amazon Linux 2 host is missing a security update.

Description

The version of nss-softokn installed on the remote host is prior to 3.90.0-6. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the ALAS2-2024-2456 advisory.

- Multiple NSS NIST curves were susceptible to a side-channel attack known as Minerva. This attack could potentially allow an attacker to recover the private key. This vulnerability affects Firefox < 121.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Run 'yum update nss-softokn' to update your system.
