Synopsis

The remote Atlassian Confluence host is missing a security update.

Description

The version of Atlassian Confluence Server running on the remote host is affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the CONFSERVER-94236 advisory.

- Denial of Service in JSON-Java versions up to and including 20230618. A bug in the parser means that an input string of modest size can lead to indefinite amounts of memory being used. (CVE-2023-5072)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to Atlassian Confluence version 7.19.18, 8.5.5, 8.7.2, 8.8.0 or later.
