A vulnerability was discovered in libgit2, a portable C implementation of the Git core methods provided as a linkable library. Using crafted inputs to the git_index_add function could cause heap corruption, and this had the potential to permit arbitrary code execution.

For Debian 10 buster, this problem has been fixed in version 0.27.7+dfsg.1-0.2+deb10u2.

We recommend that you upgrade your libgit2 packages.
