Synopsis

The remote Red Hat CoreOS host is missing a security update for OpenShift Container Platform 4.14.14.

Description

The remote Red Hat Enterprise Linux CoreOS 4 host has packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the RHSA-2024:0944 advisory.

 - Text nodes not in the HTML namespace are incorrectly literally rendered, causing text which should be escaped to not be. This could lead to an XSS attack. (CVE-2023-3978)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the RHCOS OpenShift Container Platform 4.14.14 packages based on the guidance in RHSA-2024:0944.
