Synopsis

The remote CentOS host is missing a security update for libjpeg-turbo.

Description

The remote CentOS Linux 9 host has packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the libjpeg- turbo-2.0.90-5.el9 build changelog.

 - Out of bounds read in libjpeg-turbo in Google Chrome prior to 94.0.4606.54 allowed a remote attacker to potentially exploit heap corruption via a crafted HTML page. (CVE-2021-37972)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the CentOS 9 Stream libjpeg-turbo package.
