Synopsis

The remote CentOS host is missing a security update for tmux.

Description

The remote CentOS Linux 9 host has a package installed that is affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the tmux-3.2a-4.el9 build changelog.

- In tmux before version 3.1c the function input_csi_dispatch_sgr_colon() in file input.c contained a stack- based buffer-overflow that can be exploited by terminal output. (CVE-2020-27347)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the CentOS 9 Stream tmux package.
