The remote CentOS host is missing a security update for xterm.

Description

The remote CentOS Linux 9 host has packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the xterm-366-8.el9 build changelog.

- xterm through Patch 370, when Sixel support is enabled, allows attackers to trigger a buffer overflow in set_sixel in graphics_sixel.c via crafted text. (CVE-2022-24130)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the CentOS 9 Stream xterm package.
