The remote CentOS host is missing a security update for bash.

Description

The remote CentOS Linux 9 host has packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the bash-5.1.8-6.el9 build changelog.

- A flaw was found in the bash package, where a heap-buffer overflow can occur in valid parameter_transform.
This issue may lead to memory problems. (CVE-2022-3715)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the CentOS 9 Stream bash package.
