Synopsis

The remote CentOS host is missing a security update for gnupg2.

Description

The remote CentOS Linux 9 host has packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the gnupg2-2.3.3-2.el9 build changelog.

- GnuPG through 2.3.6, in unusual situations where an attacker possesses any secret-key information from a victim's keyring and other constraints (e.g., use of GPGME) are met, allows signature forgery via injection into the status line. (CVE-2022-34903)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the CentOS 9 Stream gnupg2 package.
