SAP NetWeaver SSRF (April 2024)

medium Nessus Plugin ID 193212

Synopsis

The remote SAP NetWeaver application server is affected by a server-side request forgery vulnerability.

Description

SAP NetWeaver is affected by a server-side request forgery (SSRF) vulnerability. Due to insufficient input validation, SAP NetWeaver application (tc~esi~esp~grmg~wshealthcheck~ear) allows an unauthenticated attacker to send crafted requests from a vulnerable web application targeting internal systems behind firewalls that are normally inaccessible from the external network. This could result in Sever-Side Request Forgery vulnerability causing a low impact on confidentiality of the application.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Apply the appropriate patch according to the vendor advisory.
