Synopsis

The remote CBL Mariner host is missing one or more security updates.

Description

The version of fluent-bit installed on the remote CBL Mariner 2.0 host is prior to tested version. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the CVE-2024-23722 advisory.

- In Fluent Bit 2.1.8 through 2.2.1, a NULL pointer dereference can be caused via an invalid HTTP payload with the content type of x-www-form-urlencoded. It crashes and does not restart. This could result in logs not being delivered properly. (CVE-2024-23722)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected packages.
