The remote openSUSE host is missing a security update.

Description

The remote openSUSE 15 host has a package installed that is affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the openSUSE- SU-2024:0114-1 advisory.

- A crafted response from an upstream server the recursor has been configured to forward-recurse to can cause a Denial of Service in the Recursor. The default configuration of the Recursor does not use recursive forwarding and is not affected. (CVE-2024-25583)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected pdns-recursor package.
