Synopsis

The remote Ubuntu host is missing a security update.

Description

The remote Ubuntu 22.04 LTS / 23.10 / 24.04 LTS host has packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the USN-6771-1 advisory.

 - Passing a heavily nested list to sqlparse.parse() leads to a Denial of Service due to RecursionError.
 (CVE-2024-4340)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected python3-sqlparse and / or sqlformat packages.
