A web browser installed on the remote Windows host is affected by a vulnerability.

Description

The version of Google Chrome installed on the remote Windows host is prior to 124.0.6367.207. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the 2024_05_stable-channel-update-for-desktop_13 advisory.

 - Out of bounds write in V8 in Google Chrome prior to 124.0.6367.207 allowed a remote attacker to perform an out of bounds memory write via a crafted HTML page. (Chromium security severity: High) (CVE-2024-4761)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to Google Chrome version 124.0.6367.207 or later.
