Adobe Animate installed on remote macOS or Mac OS X host is affected by multiple vulnerabilities

Description

The version of Adobe Animate installed on the remote macOS or Mac OS X host is prior to 23.0.6 or 24.0.3. It is, therefore, affected by multiple vulnerabilities as referenced in the apsb24-36 advisory.

 - Out-of-bounds Write (CWE-787) potentially leading to Arbitrary code execution (CVE-2024-30282, CVE-2024-30296, CVE-2024-30297)

 - Stack-based Buffer Overflow (CWE-121) potentially leading to Arbitrary code execution (CVE-2024-30293)

 - Heap-based Buffer Overflow (CWE-122) potentially leading to Arbitrary code execution (CVE-2024-30294)

 - NULL Pointer Dereference (CWE-476) potentially leading to Arbitrary code execution (CVE-2024-30295)

 - Out-of-bounds Read (CWE-125) potentially leading to Memory leak (CVE-2024-30298)

Solution

Upgrade to Adobe Animate version 23.0.6 or 24.0.3 or later.
