Synopsis

The remote host is missing a security update.

Description

The version of LibreOffice installed on the remote host is prior to 24.2.3 or 7.6.7. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the CVE-2024-3044 advisory.

- Unchecked script execution in Graphic on-click binding in affected LibreOffice versions allows an attacker to create a document which without prompt will execute scripts built-into LibreOffice on clicking a graphic. Such scripts were previously deemed trusted but are now deemed untrusted. (CVE-2024-3044)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to LibreOffice version 24.2.3 / 7.6.7 or later.
