Synopsis

The remote web application server is affected by an identity spoofing vulnerability.

Description

The version of IBM WebSphere Application Server running on the remote host is affected by an identity spoofing vulnerability as referenced in the 7158031 advisory.

- IBM WebSphere Application Server is vulnerable to identity spoofing by an authenticated user due to improper signature validation. (CVE-2024-37532)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update to IBM WebSphere Application Server version 8.5.5.26, 9.0.5.21 or later. Alternatively, upgrade to the minimal fix pack levels required by the interim fix and then apply Interim Fix PH61504.
