Synopsis

The remote Amazon Linux 2 host is missing a security update.

Description

The version of dnsmasq installed on the remote host is prior to 2.76-16. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the ALAS2-2024-2580 advisory.

 dnsmasq 2.9 is vulnerable to Integer Overflow via forward_query. (CVE-2023-49441)

Solution

Run 'yum update dnsmasq' to update your system.
