Synopsis

The remote Amazon Linux 2 host is missing a security update.

Description

It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the ALAS2ANSIBLE2-2024-011 advisory.

Heap-based buffer overflow in the ALGnew function in block_templace.c in Python Cryptography Toolkit (aka pycrypto) allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code as demonstrated by a crafted iv parameter to cryptmsg.py. (CVE-2013-7459)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Run 'yum update python-crypto' to update your system.
