Synopsis

The remote EulerOS host is missing a security update.

Description

According to the versions of the expat package installed, the EulerOS installation on the remote host is affected by the following vulnerabilities :

 libexpat through 2.6.1 allows an XML Entity Expansion attack when there is isolated use of external parsers (created via XML_ExternalEntityParserCreate).(CVE-2024-28757)

Tenable has extracted the preceding description block directly from the EulerOS expat security advisory.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected expat packages.
