Synopsis

The remote CBL Mariner host is missing one or more security updates.

Description

The version of mcpp installed on the remote CBL Mariner 2.0 host is prior to tested version. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the CVE-2019-14274 advisory.

 - MCPP 2.7.2 has a heap-based buffer overflow in the do_msg() function in support.c. (CVE-2019-14274)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected packages.
