Synopsis

The remote CBL Mariner host is missing one or more security updates.

Description

The version of unzip installed on the remote CBL Mariner 2.0 host is prior to tested version. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the CVE-2014-9636 advisory.

 - unzip 6.0 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (out-of-bounds read or write and crash) via an extra field with an uncompressed size smaller than the compressed field size in a zip archive that advertises STORED method compression. (CVE-2014-9636)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected packages.
