high Nessus Plugin ID 201562

Synopsis

The remote CBL Mariner host is missing one or more security updates.

Description

The version of graphviz installed on the remote CBL Mariner 2.0 host is prior to tested version. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the CVE-2020-18032 advisory.

- Buffer Overflow in Graphviz Graph Visualization Tools from commit ID f8b9e035 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code or cause a denial of service (application crash) by loading a crafted file into the lib/common/shapes.c component. (CVE-2020-18032)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected packages.
