Synopsis

The remote CBL Mariner host is missing one or more security updates.

Description

The version of unzip installed on the remote CBL Mariner 2.0 host is prior to tested version. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the CVE-2018-1000035 advisory.

 - A heap-based buffer overflow exists in Info-Zip UnZip version <= 6.00 in the processing of password- protected archives that allows an attacker to perform a denial of service or to possibly achieve code execution. (CVE-2018-1000035)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected packages.
