Synopsis

The remote CBL Mariner host is missing one or more security updates.

Description

The version of hdf5 installed on the remote CBL Mariner 2.0 host is prior to tested version. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the CVE-2024-32605 advisory.

 - HDF5 Library through 1.14.3 has a heap-based buffer over-read in H5VM_memcpyvv in H5VM.c (called from H5D__compact_readvv in H5Dcompact.c). (CVE-2024-32605)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected packages.
