Synopsis

The remote CBL Mariner host is missing one or more security updates.

Description

The version of packer / kubevirt / vitess / telegraf installed on the remote CBL Mariner 2.0 host is prior to tested version. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the CVE-2023-3978 advisory.

 - Text nodes not in the HTML namespace are incorrectly literally rendered, causing text which should be escaped to not be. This could lead to an XSS attack. (CVE-2023-3978)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected packages.
